Short presentation of Dr.ir. Piter Bijma

Assistant Professor at the Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre, Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Piter Bijma graduated from Wageningen University in 1996. From 1996 to 2000 he worked as PhD-student on the prediction of rates of inbreeding in selected populations. He obtained his Ph. D.-degree in 2000 at Wageningen University.

Since then he joined the Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre of Wageningen University as assistant professor, working on the design of breeding programs, inbreeding, and the quantitative genetic theory of traits affected by indirect genetic effects. He is particularly interested in quantitative genetic theory and breeding programs.
